Cybercab event highlights: Supermanifold V3, no rare earths, on-screen joystick

Tesla spent an evening on Cybercab. The useful facts are short.

Drivetrain: Supermanifold V3, no rare-earth magnets in the drive units Tesla showed. That is a cost and supply-chain slide more than a performance slide. Cabin: two seats, no steering wheel in the default layout, and an on-screen joystick for the rare case a human has to move the car in a depot or on a closed lot.

Tesla also asked riders to suggest cabin features. Treat that as a survey, not a promise. The Europe comment from Musk — “hopefully coming soon” — is the same sentence he has used for FSD unsupervised in three regions. Put a pin in it. Do not build a calendar around it.

If you care about Robotaxi as an owner rather than as a stock story: the near-term product is not a two-seat cab in your driveway. It is the service-center loaner replacement Tesla is wiring into the app this month.
