Tesla debuts new side repeater cameras for Cybertruck

A hardware refresh on the camera that lives in the worst place on an angular truck.

Cybertruck is getting a redesigned side repeater camera. Tesla has not framed this as a recall. Owner photos from new deliveries show a tighter housing and a different lens stack aimed at the spray and grit that eats the current unit.

If you already own a CT, do not expect a mailbox surprise. This is a running change on new trucks and a service part for damaged cameras. The software visualization does not change.

Why it matters: Cybertruck’s side cameras sit on a stainless plane that throws water in a way Model Y never did. Repeaters that fog or pit are an FSD and Sentry problem, not a cosmetic one. A better housing is the correct fix. A software blur overlay was never going to be.
